What is Glute Lab?
Named one of the top 20 gyms in the US by Men's Health, Glute Lab is the premier strength and physique training facility in San Diego. The gym is owned by "The Glute Guy" Bret Contreras, PhD, CSCS*D, the world’s foremost authority on glute training.
Glute lab is home to state-of-the-art equipment, unrivaled evidence-based training methods, and hands-on coaching. We offer individualized small-group training sessions in a motivating and supportive environment. Whether your goal is to build an incredible stage-worthy physique, increase your overall athletic strength and power, or simply to perform the very best glute strengthening workouts, we will provide you with highly effective protocols custom tailored for YOU and YOUR goals.

What are Glute Lab’s hours of operation?
Glute Lab is currently open:
Monday to Friday 6AM - 7AM, 9 AM - 10 AM, and 6 PM - 7 PM
Saturday 9 AM - 10 AM
Does Glute Lab offer open/free gym hours?
We do not currently offer “open hours” where you can just show up and train however you’d like.
Can I take classes at Glute Lab?
We currently offer Glute Squad classes at Glute Lab. Click here to book.
Can I schedule a training session with Bret?
Due to Bret’s busy schedule, in-person training sessions Bret are not currently available.
I’m a beginner. Can I still train at Glute Lab?
Glute Lab’s trainers can individualize programs for all experience levels! Everyone has to start somewhere; no one enters the gym knowing it all. As a member of the Glute Squad, you will no doubt increase your strength training knowledge, improve your form, and build confidence in the gym!
The Bret Contreras YouTube channel is an excellent resource for all experience levels to familiarize themselves with Glute Lab strength training exercises and technique.
Does Glute Lab offer internships?
Glute Lab is not currently offering internships or shadowing hours, but may do so in the future.
Does Glute Lab offer certifications or seminars?
We are currently in the process of developing a Glute Lab certification
I don’t live in San Diego. Does Bret offer online training?
